World to apply more efforts to compel Russia to peace - Klimkin

"We are not alone, we are doing everything possible to force Russia to fulfill the agreements. This process involves the Normandy format, where we have our German and French friends, the European Union, and the G7. So now, we'll witness significant dynamics in terms of efforts, meetings, and attempts to compel Russia to implement the Minsk Agreements," the Foreign Minister of Ukraine said. According to him, if such actions are not successful, the European Union and the G7 have clear commitment to continue the sanctions policy, which, of course, will affect Russia. "Secondly, we have been given very clear promise to work with us on principles of solidarity. That promise has been confirmed during the recent visit of the President to Berlin and Brussels, and will be confirmed during the next meetings," Klimkin said. Responding to a question about the threat of vacuum of the political arrangements after January 1, 2016, the Minister said, "The whole logic of the Minsk Agreements lies in their speedy implementation. The end of the year is the deadline of their implementation, set forth in the Minsk Agreements. Therefore, it is not about the vacuum that may follow, but about the necessity to implement the Minsk Agreements right now. If we do not implement them, then we will come to a different situation, which we will discuss later. However, now we are working to make them effective. We can not wait forever and play with politics, including the global politics. We have to bring peace right now."
