In Mariupol direction, militants used grenade launchers and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions near Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk). The enemy also fired at ATO troops outside Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Vodiane, Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol), Berezove (35km south-west of Donetsk), Pavlopol and Marinka, using grenade launchers and small arms. In Donetsk direction, the tensest situation was observed in southern and eastern suburbs of Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), where militants shelled Ukrainian troops, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, antiaircraft mounts and infantry weapons. In addition, illegal armed formations used 82mm mortars, small arms and grenade launchers to fire at Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). In Luhansk direction, ATO troops came under artillery fire outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) and Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk). Russian-backed militants also used mortars to launch attacks on Ukrainian strongholds near Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk), Trokhizbenka (33km north-west of Luhansk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk), Orikhove (75km north of Luhansk), Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk) and Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk).
