Number of millionaires in Ukraine fell by almost a quarter last year

Over the past year, 3,504 people declared over 1 million hryvnias (or over 38 thousand US dollars) in their tax returns. Compared to 2015, the number of millionaires decreased by 24%, or by more than one thousand people, the report says. According to Acting Chairman of the State Fiscal Service Myroslav Prodan, the total income of the Ukrainian millionaires increased by 13%, or by over 122 million dollars compared to last year. The overwhelming majority of citizens, who declared over UAH 1 million, live in Kyiv – almost 1,700 people. Other regions with most millionaires, over 200 in each, are Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa, Prodan said.
