Attorney General's Office to complete pre-trial investigation in Yanukovych case in February

Attorney General's Office plans to complete preliminary investigations in criminal proceedings for high treason of former President Viktor Yanukovych in February. This was stated by the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko. He said that during next month a final interrogation and the necessary expertise will be conducted. Following this the case will be handed over to the court.

Lutsenko said that the Ukrainian police received a photocopy of the statement of Yanukovych of March 1, 2014 asking for entry of the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, which is irrefutable proof of state treason. The Attorney General added that the evidence in the case of Yanukovich were already given by two deputies of the State Duma of Russia. They recognized the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
