Foreign Minister discusses economic, political cooperation with Myanmar leadership

Klimkin met with President of Myanmar Htin Kyaw and with State Counsellor and Minister for Foreign Affairs Aung San Suu Kyi, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported. During the meeting the counterparts agreed that democratic principles are very important for international and regional decisions. Klimkin and Aung San Suu Kyi discussed further enhancement of political dialogue between Ukraine and Myanmar. Also, the Minister met with Commander in Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces Min Aung Hlaing. During Klimkin’s visit, Ukraine’s Honorary Consulate in the city of Yangon, was opened.
