EU report: Human rights situation deteriorates in occupied parts of Ukraine due to Russian aggression

This has been stated in the EU Annual Report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World released on Tuesday. "The conflict in eastern Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation led to a significant deterioration of the human rights situation in the territories which are not controlled by the government," reads the report. Particularly, the deterioration is observed in socio-economic living conditions, restrictions of fundamental freedoms, freedom of expression, and religious beliefs.
