Ukraine to inform UNESCO about demolition of house of Shevchenko in Russia

The corresponding instruction was given at the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports. "I ask the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the Culture Ministry of Ukraine to send a note to the Russian Foreign Ministry and to inform UNESCO and other international organizations about destruction of the cultural site. It is unacceptable. Our international partners already know how the face of Russia looks like, and here we have another proof," Yatsenyuk noted. Earlier, Culture Minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kyrylenko informed that the house, which Taras Shevchenko had lived in when he had been in exile, had been demolished in the Russian city of Orenburg.
