In Ukraine the third mission of the Canadian Medical doctors stayed in Ukraine. Canadian doctors for a week made plastic surgery to more than 4 dozens wounded in the ATO area and at Maidan. Mission was organized by Ukrainian Canadian Foundation under the patronage of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
In Kiev, the doctors conducted operations on the face and upper extremities, were involved in the removal of post-traumatic cranial-facial deformities, defects of soft tissue and scarring. The team of 22 surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses worked together with Ukrainian surgeons.
This is the third mission of Canadian physicians. But it differs from previous ones, since there is possibility to leave the equipment worth 700,000 Canadian dollars in Ukraine so that Ukrainian experts could continue to carry out such operations. Another such mission of Canadian physicians in Ukraine is expected in February 2016.
