17-07-2014 16:19

The National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) of Ukraine has said that Ukrainian soldiers are often shelled from Russian territory.

"The situation on the border in the counterterrorism operation (ATO) area remains difficult, Grad multiple rocket launchers, heavy artillery and mortars are constantly used. The positions and border forces of the ATO are often fired on from the territory of the Russian Federation," spokesman for the NSDC information center Andriy Lysenko said. According to him, the positions of Ukrainian military are shelled from the Russian village of Kuibyshevo. He also said that groups of servicemen in Russian military uniform but without any insignia, armed with artillery weapons and Grad launchers had been observed at the border. "The redeployment of the Russian units to the state border with Ukraine virtually along its entire length continues," Lysenko said. He also showed reporters a video that confirmed the movement of the Russian arms and military equipment across the border into Ukraine.
