More than 27,000 residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions have been settled throughout Ukraine, the State Service for Emergency Situations said in a statement on Wednesday.
"From the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as of the morning July 2 the Interagency Coordination Staff moved and settled in other regions of Ukraine over 27,013 Ukrainian citizens. Among the re-settlers are: children - 10,268, persons with disabilities and elderly - 3, 454 people," the report reads. The emergency agency officials added that most citizens have been accommodated in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia region, Kharkiv region, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Now in each region regional headquarters have been set up to provide assistance to the citizens who move from the areas of the antiterrorist operation.
