Poroshenko to negotiate with representatives of east on Thursday

18-06-2014 18:06

President Petro Poroshenko will hold negotiations with representatives of eastern regions of Ukraine on June 19, his representative on peaceful settlement of the conflict Iryna Herashchenko said Wednesday, Ukrinform agency reports.

“On Thursday, a large meeting of President Petro Poroshenko will be held with representatives of the eastern region - business representatives and the political elite of Donetsk and Luhansk, with legally elected mayors of cities, not those appointed at meetings of separatists,” Herashchenko said. According to her, the President initiates a meeting in order to feel the moods in those regions and to jointly discuss the problems. As Herashchenko stressed, Poroshenko in his dialogue with the east will rely on those people, who have the authority, support and trust of the population there. At the same time, according to her, the President will not meet with those, who “killed their compatriots and brought troops there.”
