Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska proposes to hold on June 13 in Kharkiv a meeting with her Russian counterpart Ella Pamfilova with participation of human rights activists of two countries and UN officials to discuss the situation in the east of Ukraine.
On the eve V. Lutkovska sent a corresponding letter to Moscow. In late May, human rights activists addressed the ombudspersons of the two countries with the initiative for a common mission to monitor the situation in the east and prevention of violence. The purpose of the mission should be also the release of all hostages. This meeting was planned to be held last week, but for technical reasons it was postponed.
