About 10,000 armed terrorists are in Donbas and up to 10% of the local population supports them, Dmytro Tymchuk, military expert and head of the Information Resistance group said on Thursday in Kyiv.
Tymchuk also noted that the Ukrainian government was not prepared, including in terms of legislation, to oppose such a challenge. Now the parliament, although with considerable delay, fills these gaps in the legislative framework. "We have never faced such a threat to hold similar anti-terrorist operations in entire regions of Ukraine. We, Ukrainians, even at expert level, always believed if terrorists act, it would have been a group of 10-20 people, who will seize some plane or a building. Accordingly, all anti-terrorism legislation, which we had until the last moment, was just tailored precisely for such tasks," he noted.
