The enterprises of the Ukroboronprom State Concern are ready to supply in the nearest future around 70 armored personnel carriers (APCs) assembled at tank plants in Kharkiv and Kyiv in order to equip military units of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The press service of the state concern reported on Wednesday, April 2, referring to Director General Yuriy Tereschenko, Kharkiv Morozov Machine-Building Design Bureau State Enterprise is able to supply a batch of APCs of BTR-4 family in the quantity of 58 units, including 41 vehicles of BTR-4E, seven commander vehicles BTR-4K, two command and staff vehicles BTR-4KSh and eight recovery vehicles BMM-4S. "These are the newest vehicles of Ukrainian developments, which have a high level of mobility, powerful weaponry, perfect fire control system and modern level of armored protection," Tereschenko said, adding that among them fully equipped and mission capable vehicles are following: 29 BTR-4E, five BTR-4K, six BMM-4S and two BTR-4KSh. In addition, Kyiv Armored Plant can supply five new BTR-3E vehicles and five BTR-80, which are on the balance of SC Ukroboronservice and will be repaired by it. Zhytomyr Armored Fighting Vehicle Plant is ready to supply five repaired BTR-80 and Mykolayiv Armoured Plant- one BTR-70DI. "After the supplying of those vehicles by the concern, the decision on the adaptation of them will be made by the National Guard commanders in accordance with the law on the National Guard of Ukraine No. 876-VII of March 13, 2014," he said.
