"Solely for the sake of preserving Ukraine's unity the question of accession to NATO is not on the agenda". This is what Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said in his address to the residents of Ukraine's southern and eastern regions. .
He said the country will be defended by a strong , modern Ukrainian army. On the eve NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Deshchytsya discussed the possibility of Ukraine to seek assistance of the Alliance in increasing the combat capability of the Ukrainian army. At the same time the North Atlantic Alliance has decided to suspend practical cooperation with Russia.
