In the small hours of Friday, protesters seized the building of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry located on the central street Khreschatyk, next to the building of the National Radio Company.
"None of the security guards was injured and no property was damaged, except for the glass panels of the front door," a member of the self-defence unit in control of the building told reporters. He said the building would be used as a medical aid post and a warming shelter. Deputy Agrarian Policy Minister Ivan Bisiuk said that the people who occupied the building were preventing the ministry staff from working. "The so-called self-defence fighters let the ministry staffers take their personal belongings, but say they won't be working on Friday," the deputy minister said.
