19-12-2013 10:34

Ukraine and Japan have discussed a range of issues of bilateral economic relations, including cooperation in the exploration and extraction of natural resources, oil and gas, as well as the participation of the Japanese side in the implementation of several national projects, the press service of the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry has reported.

"One important direction of the development of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation is the modernization of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, mining, metallurgical and chemical enterprises, and the development of transport infrastructure and the logistics of Ukraine's agriculture," Economic Development and Trade Minister Ihor Prasolov said at the fifth joint meeting of the coordinating council on economic cooperation with Japan under the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and the Committee for Economic Cooperation with Ukraine of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), which was held in Kyiv on Tuesday. The Ukrainian side proposed that the Japanese participate in the implementation of several national projects, in particular, the LNG Terminal project - a marine terminal for receiving liquefied natural gas, the Energy of Nature project and its components (Biomass Energy, Warm Home and Grain of Ukraine), as well as the Industrial Parks project and its component (Technopolis). The Ukrainian delegation also presented its achievements in aircraft construction, in particular, a number of aircraft that are produced in Ukraine for private and public use.
