Ukraine and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan are equally interested in the improvement of bilateral relations, President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
“We have to improve them and I think both sides need this,” the head of state said on Thursday. Ukraine has been preparing for the introduction of new standards in various spheres for many years, Yanukovych noted. “The European standards are a requirement of the time,” he said. In this connection, the president reiterated that Ukraine is an export-oriented country, which exports 60% of its products to various countries. “When we speak about European integration, we mean that we have to build Europe here, in Ukraine,” Yanukovych said.
