“Ukraine is one of the few countries in the region that has made significant progress in combating HIV/AIDS, and we would like this state to set an example to others,” Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Mark Dybul said while meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko in Geneva.
Both parties have noted the progress made by Ukraine in combating HIV/AIDS. “Ukraine appreciates assistance provided by the Global Fund in order to fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. The positive results that are observed in our state, especially in combating HIV/AIDS, clearly demonstrate that many years of our cooperation are successful,” Hryschenkosaid in turn. The sides also discussed the prospects for the implementation of a grant agreement between Ukraine and the Global Fund over the next three years.
