Ukraine's executive authorities are already preparing a program for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has said.
“Right now, central executive agencies are taking steps to prepare a program for the implementation of this agreement, as we need to clearly understand how we will execute it,” Volodymyr Bachynsky, Deputy Head of the EU Department at the Foreign Ministry said in Kyiv on Thursday. He is confident that the agreement would be signed at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius in late November. Bachynsky also noted that the draft Association Agreement was approved on September 18 by the Ukrainian government and is awaiting signature by the president. Relevant procedures are taking place in the European Union as well. “We expect that a decision to sign [the agreement] will be taken on October 21,” he said.
