Yanukovych predicts trade dialogue between Ukraine, Russia, EU soon
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych believes that dialogue between Ukraine, Russia and the European Union on trade issues can take place in the near future; he said this in an interview with Bloomberg.
“Dialog between Ukraine, Russia and the EU on trade issues is possible in the near future,” Yanukovych said. He noted that Ukraine wants to find a way to develop a relationship with the Russia-led customs union, adding that it “makes no sense” for the bloc's members to reply to Ukraine's EU agreement with a trade war. The head of state said that Ukraine's relations with the EU will benefit the customs union. “Ukraine is a bridge between Russia and the EU and it's very important to make sure the bridge is strong and reliable,” Yanukovych said.
