Linkevicius: EU determines amount of provisional application of Association Agreement with Ukraine
EU member states have determined the amount of the provisional application of the Association Agreement that will come into force immediately after the signing of the document without its ratification, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine by phone from New York.
Such a decision was made at a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union held in Brussels on Monday he said. "The importance of this decision lies in the fact that immediately after the signing of the document, if it is signed, it will allow the so-called provisional application of the Association Agreement. This is about 90% of the agreement in the part of a deep and comprehensive free trade area and more than 50% of the political part. Although this decision is technical, it is very important in terms of the irreversibility of the process," Linkevicius said. "It's still necessary to make a decision on the signing, but it has not yet been made," he recalled.
