Ukraine has considerably intensified its efforts towards meeting the conditions required for signing the Association Agreement at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, said UK Minister of State for Europe David Lidington.
According to him, the British parliament will most likely ratify the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement when the time comes. "I think if the government adopts the decision, we will persuade the parliament to approve it," Lidington said. According to him, most British MPs support the European integration of Ukraine. "We have always supported it, and all parties at Westminster support the development of the EU's Eastern Partnership," the British minister said. As reported, the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU is to be signed at the Eastern Partnership in November 2013. After that the parliaments of all the EU member states, as well as the Verkhovna Rada, will have to ratify the document.
