"Ukraine has a very good chance of signing the Association Agreement with the European Union in November. I say this based on what I heard from the Ukrainian authorities and the European party. Everyone wants to make this work," U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt said in an interview with Radio Liberty.
"However,' he said, 'there are important decisions, which Ukrainian authorities should make. We believe that Europe keeps the door open to Ukraine, and we hope that the Ukrainian government will go through this door," Pyatt said. According to him, he was impressed by the seriousness with which the Ukrainian government approaches the conclusion of the Association Agreement, focusing on the different steps in order to meet EU standards. "One of them is the issue of selective justice. We very much hope that the Ukrainian government and its European partners will be able to find a formula to satisfy the requirements of the European community, including cessation of the practice of selective justice," the U.S. Ambassador said.
