Opposition protest in Uzhhorod peaceful

A rally of the political opposition, Stand up, Ukraine!, was held in Uzhhorod on March 15. According to the application, which was submitted to the local authority, the protest was supposed to gather three thousand people. But only 400-450 people came, the press-service of the interior ministry department in Zakarpattia region reported.

 "The protection of public order during the event was provided by 30 police officers. No violations of public order have been reported," the police noted. Earlier, Uzhhorod Mayor Viktor Pohorelov said that the protest did not justify the hopes of the opposition.
