MP Hryhoriy Nemyrya, chairman of the Standing Committee on European Integration, told reporters in Brussels on Friday that the Verkhovna Rada's delegation for inter-parliamentary cooperation with the European Parliament will be formed by the 20th of March.
According to him, his committee approved the delegation's composition back in January, but since then the Regions Party faction has insisted that the delegation include exclusively members the parliament factions, leaving out independent MPs. "In our opinion,' Nemyrya said, 'this approach discriminates a large number of non-partisan MPs who represent millions of voters." He said that he had met on Wednesday with Pawel Kowal, head of the European Parliament's delegation to Ukraine, and promised him that the Ukrainian side would settle the issue within a week. Nemyrya reminded that the next meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee would take place in Kyiv from the 3rd to 5th of April.
