President Viktor Yanukovych on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the task group for drafting his Annual Address to Parliament - the Ukrainian analog of the U.S. State of the Union.
"During the discussion the President suggested placing a stronger accent on Ukraine's adequate responses to modern challenges in the period of global uncertainly, steps to accelerate the economic, social, and judicial reforms, and the need to ensure their humanistic orientation," presidential Administration Head Serhiy Lyovochkin told reporters after the meeting. According to him, Yanukovych instructed the task group to specify steps for intensifying the country's economic development, implementing his social initiatives, and making the most of Ukraine's OSCE chairmanship. "The President will deliver his address to parliament in the nearest time, as soon as the text is finalized," Lyovochkin said.
