This was announced today in Kyiv by Chairman of the Emergency Services of Ukraine Mykhailo Bolotskykh following a meeting on prevention of flooding of the areas due to spring floods.The first wave of flood has passed in Carpathian region without complications, the official informed.
He said that now the situation in the West is under control. In the future, the water level in the Carpathian rivers will depend on rainfall. Partial flooding is possible in some settlements in Volyn and Rivne regions. Spring floods may cause serious damage to certain territories in Chernihiv region that are situated near rivers. But in Ternopil the situation may be complicated by uncontrolled or accidental discharges of water from small reservoirs. However all services are ready to eliminate any effects of flooding Mykhailo Bolotskykh assured.
