Ukraine wants Europe be involved in creating gas transport consortium

Ukraine is interested in equal access to the management of the gas transit system (GTS) in creating a gas transit consortium, as well as attracting the European side to it, President Viktor Yanukovych has said this at a concluding press conference at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv.

"We want the Ukrainian gas transit system to work safely, could pump out a certain amount of gas to Europe, the more the better, be technically upgraded, have the internal resources and this task we will fulfill together with the partners that can help us with this," he said.I am convinced that if the European institutions, like our partners, whom we supply gas to Europe, are ready to take part in the modernization of the system, we will be happy to consider the proposal. So, there will be no problems. We want to find a model that would be comfortable for all," added the president.
