"The main message at the EU-Ukraine summit that will take place in Brussels on February 25th will be that 2013 is the year for signing the Association Agreement," EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski told reporters on Wednesday.
According to him, Kyiv has yet to meet several requirements for signing the agreement this fall. "These requirements were mentioned in EU documents and during Commissioner Stefan Fule's visit to Ukraine ten days ago," Tombinski said. In reply to a question whether Brussels is expecting President Yanukovych to come to the summit with anything tangible to show, Tombinski said, "This is a question to the Ukrainian President. He knows what the EU expects from him and what is needed for signing the Association Agreement."
