Ukraine is planning to host a regional summit on Europe and Asia as part of the World Economic Forum in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"We are planning to hold a summit of European and Eurasian countries in Ukraine in the near future and it will give us an opportunity to overcome the challenges our countries are facing today," Yanukovych said in Davos on Thursday following a meeting with founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab. According to Yanukovych, only improved compatibility of economies in these countries, creation of a mechanism for dynamic and flexible responding to these challenges could stimulate growth of economy. The president also noted that the formation of the global agenda on Ukraine by the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum with the participation of the world's best experts "is exactly what Ukraine needs today." In turn, Schwab said the World Economic Forum was honored to welcome the president of Ukraine in Davos. According to him, Ukraine has a chance to integrate in the European family. He added that the results of the Global Agenda Council's work on the agenda for Ukraine could be used as a trial version of vision of the Ukrainian economy's further development.
